How to Paint a Mirror

IMG_9595

I had this mirror, but it was a boring tan/yellow color. I wanted something bright for it, so that it could pop in my room.  Here is how to paint a mirror (it’s really simple):

  1. First tape the edges of the mirror using painters tape.  Be sure to get it under the frame a little.

  2. With chalk paint, paint the frame of mirror, being sure to get all of the crevices. IMG_9578
  3. Let the paint dry, and then go over it again with another coat. IMG_9579
  4. Once the second coach dries, get some plastic, and cover the mirror with it, retaping it to the previous painters tape. IMG_9581
  5. Spray the frame of the mirror with a clear top coat of spray paint.  Let dry, and spray again.
  6. Let the mirror air out for at least 24 hours, then put it wherever you want!IMG_9596
